Better than LED: Jovs 4D Laser Light Therapy Mask Review

If you have been following me for a while, you’ve probably noticed that I’m obsessed with beauty gadgets. I really take the time to take care of my skin and I love the fact that today we don’t necessarily need to go to a spa or clinic to have access to technology. Sometimes, though, I’m skeptical, I must say – and I was kinda skeptical about LED masks. I didn’t really understand the benefits – and honestly, I’ve never read a lot about it.

Earlier this year, while doing a facial at a spa, the esthetician and I were chatting about products and devices and she mentioned that I would benefit from an LED mask. Also, someone I follow on Instagram was using an LED mask regularly and shared how the treatments helped with the redness on her skin. Ok, I was sold and crazy to test it! So I finally put my hands on the Jovs 4D Laser Light Therapy Mask with Red Light Therapy and I will share my impressions with you.

What is an LED mask?

An LED mask gives your skin a little spa day with unique lights. Instead of creams and lotions, you’re exposing your skin to different colors of light, like red, blue, or even a combo of colors. Think of it like this: Red light is like a warm hug for your skin. It can help with things like reducing wrinkles and promoting collagen production. It works by exposing your skin to a specific wavelength of red light, usually in the 620-700 nanometer range. Here’s why it’s cool:

  • Collagen Boost: Red light stimulates the production of collagen, which is like the scaffolding that keeps your skin firm and plump. More collagen means fewer wrinkles and fine lines.
  • Cell Renewal: It also helps your skin cells do a better job at regenerating.
  • Inflammation Fighter: Red light can calm down inflammation, making it helpful for conditions like rosacea or general redness.
  • Painless and Non-Invasive: Unlike some skincare treatments that involve needles or harsh chemicals, red light therapy is painless and doesn’t damage your skin. It’s like a spa day without any discomfort.
  • No Downtime: There’s no downtime with red light therapy. You can hop right back into your daily routine after a session.

Is LED technology legit?

Yes! There is a solid body of scientific research on red light therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation. These studies provide data-driven insights into its effectiveness for various skincare and health-related purposes.

  • One study published in the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy in 2007 found that red light therapy significantly improved wrinkles and skin roughness.
  • A Research published in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology in 2016 showed that red and blue light therapy reduced acne lesions by 46.9% after 12 weeks of treatment.
  • Studies, such as one published in the Journal of Lasers in Medical Sciences in 2014, have demonstrated its ability to accelerate the healing process in various types of wounds, including diabetic ulcers.
  • The Journal of Rheumatology published a study in 2000 showing pain reduction in knee osteoarthritis patients.
  • Research published in Lasers in Surgery and Medicine in 2013 showed improved hair counts in participants.

Seems to good to be true? Well, actually you need to remember that, as almost every skin treatment, red light therapy isn’t a one-and-done solution. It usually takes several sessions over weeks or even months to see significant results. But when you do, your skin has a natural refresh button.

Jovs 4D Laser Light Therapy Mask

Ok, now you know all the benefits of LED – what if I told you that the Jovs 4D Laser Light Therapy Mask actually features a better technology? It’s called FPT (Focus Photothermal Therapy), which is 6x more powerful than LED, providing visible results in 4 weeks.

Plus, this mask also:

  • Provides and 4D anti-aging – reduces wrinkles and fine lines;
  • Reduces skin irritation;
  • Features a patented nano molecular food-grade silicone;
  • It is safe around the eye area, with no need for goggles.

How to use the Jovs 4D Laser Light Therapy Mask

First, you need to charge the mask – and this is a great feature: it’s wireless, meaning no need to be in charging mode while used. The only wire is the one that connects the remote to the mask. Once you are ready to start your treatment, make sure your skin is cleaned. Then, you can choose one of the treatment modes:

  • M1-Soothing Mode – Strengthen Skin Barrier –  Boost circulation, improve skin texture, optimized for use on all skin tones.
  • M2-Standard Mode – Skin Brightening – Reduce the appearance of redness and dark circles, diminish blemishes, ideal for dull skin.
  • M3-Deep Mode – Anti-Aging – Penetrate deep into the skin, reduce wrinkles, smooth fine lines, and increase firmness.

Each of these modes has a different light intensity and time. They are set to the following durations: 10min,15min,and 20min.

Why is Jovs 4D Laser Light Therapy Mask different? At this moment, most of the red light masks on the market only reach 850nm light waves – and that doesn’t penetrate enough in the skin. Also, the pertinence to deep tissues is not enough. Other products do not arrange light waves according to specific skin problems.

My thoughts on the Jovs 4D Laser Light Therapy Mask

I must say I was kinda worried. Is this gonna be comfortable? Am I gonna feel anything?

Well, first of all, the mask is super comfortable to wear. The food-grade silicone helps with that – it’s a very flexible material that fits your face perfectly. Also, the velcro allows you to adjust the mask to your head. To start the treatment,  you can turn it on using the remote and choose the time and intensity – you can check the treatment modes and choose the best treatment for you, according to your needs.

Once the mask is on, all you need to do is relax. I usually do a treatment while I’m watching TV at night or I simply lay down on my bed and I close my eyes to relax. I was worried about my eyes – but, again, it’s comfortable, and that includes your eyes. The sensation is a little warm feeling on your skin, very subtle. And my favorite feature: once the treatment is finished, the mask turns off automatically. And then you can apply a moisturizer and follow with your skincare routine.

And the results? Well, that was what most impressed me. As I mentioned earlier, red light therapy isn’t a one-and-done solution, and it can take some time. But I can tell you that your skin is definitely not the same after treatment. The redness goes away, and the skin tone looks so even! It’s like the same results I get when I use my favorite face masks. I was impressed! Plus, you know that every treatment will contribute to long-lasting results with anti-aging benefits.

It’s always good to remember that consistency is the key when we talk about skincare devices. If you want results and keep the results, you should take care of it every day. I try seeing it as a self-care moment, and besides that, it is so easy and quick! And yes, you can use it every day.
