7 amazing classes in New York City to book right now

One thing that makes me love New York City is the number of things to do here. In addition to the tourist attractions, restaurants, parks, shops, and the intense nightlife, there is an infinity of experiences, such as, for example, the most varied classes. Today I’m going to list for you some suggestions for classes to go by yourself, as a couple or with friends. These are unpretentious opportunities to learn something different and relax – no one will become an expert taking one class; the idea here is the experience and basic notions.

Cooking classes at Eataly

Foodies will love the cooking classes at Eataly – which is an Italian food destination featuring a coffee shop, an ice cream shop, a retail store, and restaurants. Eataly’s events include pasta and pizza-making classes, and even cheese and wine-tasting events, as well as cocktail classes. To check the classes available, just access this link and select the Eataly unit of your choice – Flatiron or Downtown.

Mixology classes

Mixology is an art – combining ingredients and liquors to create an unforgettable cocktail is a good skill to have, especially if you’re like me, who loves a crafted cocktail and also loves hosting people at your place. Liquid Lab offers classes for the public – as well as catering for events and consulting for restaurants. Check the website for the class schedule.

Trapeze class

Anyone who has watched Sex and the City will remember that in one of the episodes, Carrie appears practicing trapeze. The place is the New York Trapeze School, with locations at Pier 40 (Manhattan) and in Brooklyn. They have classes for beginners and advanced. I did once, and it was fantastic! You can book on the school’s website.

Candle making class

I don’t know about you, but I love scented candles – and Wick and Pour offers DIY candle-making classes. Amazing right? For those in town visiting, it ends up being a great souvenir, right – the candle you made in New York. You can check details and book on the website.

Painting class

There are a lot of places for painting classes in the city – but one of the most popular is Paint’n Pour – which combines two hours of painting class with an instructor while you enjoy drinks. That’s right! A great place to go with your friends. They have locations in Harlem and the Lower East Side. See more details here.

Wine tasting

Astor Wines is one of the most famous wine shops in the city and they offer a range of events related not only to wine but to other liquors. Like blind wine tasting, how to taste Mezcal, whiskey tasting, and more. Check the calendar here.

Cheese making class

Do you want to learn how to make mozzarella? Or how about making burrata? Or learn more about cheese and wine pairing? Murray’s Cheese is an institution in NYC when it comes to cheese, and there’s no shortage of delicious classes on their calendar. Click here.
