It’s been a while since Cecconi’s Dumbo was on my list of places to visit here in New York. The restaurant has locations in several cities around the world, and last summer it opened its second location in New York, more precisely in Dumbo, Brooklyn – the area between Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge, with breathtaking views. We passed by a few times, I saw the people at the tables outside and I wanted to go so badly! As my birthday was coming, I made a reservation to celebrate there – and, very importantly: I included a note that I wanted a table outside.
Our reservation was at 6:45 p.m. and we got there a few minutes earlier. Cecconi’s is in the same building as the Brooklyn Historical Society, with a view of the East River and the two bridges. The restaurant is huge – there are plenty of tables inside and also outside. Since we are in daylight saving time, it was quite sunny when we arrived and we were following the change of lights in the sky according to the hours.
I would not say this is a cheap restaurant, but I also did not find it super expensive. The menu offers Italian options, with pizzas (from $23 to $46) and pasta (from $18 to $42), as well as salads ($16) and other appetizers and side dishes (ranging $9 to $22). You can click here and check the complete menu with all the options and prices! We ordered two drinks ($16 each) which were delicious and super refreshing. To eat, we got a burrata, which came with basil leaves and tomatoes ($18) with bread that was so delicious! We also ordered a pizza – spicy salami, $24 – which was enough for the two of us (we still left a slice). The food was very yummy!
We really enjoyed our experience at Cecconi’s! I recommend it to anyone who wants a restaurant in New York with a plus – which, in this case, is on account of the view. Do not forget to make your reservation by clicking here – remember this is a well-visited area for tourists in New York and there is a chance that you will not get a table right away! If you want to sit outside, be sure to include this detail when making your reservation.
Bônus! As I mentioned, Cecconi’s is in the same building as the Brooklyn Historical Society, and this same building has a FREE rooftop with incredible views! Be sure to check out and enjoy!
