In a busy city like New York City, where it seems no one takes a break – and everyone is always running to catch the train – it can’t be hard finding moments of tranquility, right? Sometimes all you need is just a escape – without necessarily driving, taking a train or flying to another place, lol. And yes, picnics at the park can be very relaxing – but don’t underestimate the power of a spa day! Luckily, there are a lot of excellent options when it comes to spas in New York City. On this post, I will share 4 amazing suggestions.
1. QC Spa
This spa is based in Governors Island, an island located in the south of Manhattan, a spot that it is, by itself, an oasis. QC NY is part of the renowned QC Terme Spas and Resorts, previously only found in Europe. This new destination day spa is located on Governors Island and is the only location outside of Europe.
QC NY is amazing! There are gorgeous grounds featuring unprecedented views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey, relaxation rooms (each with its own meticulously curated personality, scent, and music), themed saunas, and other incredible wellness experiences such as vichy showers, infrared beds, foot baths, hydro jets, steam baths and more.
Luxurious bathrobes, sandals, towels, shower products and a storage locker will all be provided – all that is needed is a swimsuit.
There are two pools with views of Manhattan and the pools have seats and also hydro massage. A delight!

2. World Spa
Located in Brooklyn, with easy subway access, the venue offers a variety of treatments and experiences – the facility used to be a disused parking lot, and now it’s a 50,000-square-foot wellness oasis.
The World Spa features three floors – on the first, there is the check-in area, changing rooms, individual treatment rooms and a restaurant. On the second floor you will find all the rooms and common spaces and another restaurant. The third floor features a members-only bar.
World Spa features 7 saunas – each with different temperatures and humidity levels – and specialty rooms, like the Himalayan Salt Room, to experience the benefits of salt therapy, and the Snow Room, as an alternative to cool down after the sweat bathing. There are also a 85°F hydrotherapy pool, the Vitality pool – which is heated to a comfortably hot temperature (100°F) and the Onsen pools, with contrast temperatures: cold (52°F), warm (101°F) and hot (104°F).
You can also book treatments like massages, facials and more. I highly recommend to try the Hydrafacial, an 80-minute procedure with equipment that “vacuums” impurities from your skin, in addition to LED light.

3. AIRE Ancient Baths
One of the most luxurious spa experiences in the city, AIRE Ancient Baths is located in a restored historical building from 1883 – an oasis in the middle of Soho. It features six thermal baths, at different temperatures, surrounded by candles. A very relaxing and very intimate atmosphere. You can come only for the baths (starts at $150 per person) or you can book other services, like a massage. Such a perfect idea for a date or even to go with friends or by yourself, why not?
They have another location in the US – Chicago – and other locations around the world, including London and Barcelona.
