SEOUL 🇰🇷 DAY 4 ~ last day 😢

We spent our last day in Seoul doing what we love the most: just wandering around, going to coffee shops, discovering new places… feels good not rushing to check 1029828 things from a bucket list. Mr. Snack was super happy with some of the desserts we found and we also had a soju tasting (but perhaps what I love the most about it was learning more about life in South Korea).

We are heading to Japan and tomorrow we will catch our flight to NYC. Missing home and missing Dalbit, but I will definitely gonna miss Seoul. This was such a special trip and I had so many good reflections about life while being here ❤️🥹

SEOUL 🇰🇷 DAY 3! Such a beautiful and sunny d

SEOUL 🇰🇷 DAY 3! Such a beautiful and sunny day! We tried some sweet treats - including some exquisite dessert - we enjoyed Cheonggyecheon - an 11 km-long stream that runs through downtown Seoul - and we were able to get some beautiful and unique views of the city. We also took a private tour at the Korean War Memorial and had some BBQ at a place where there was no English menu.

What a day… this whole trip has been such a nice journey. ❤️

HELLO SEOUL 🇰🇷 Can’t believe I’m here - this was an old dream, more than Tokyo!

Our days 1 and 2 looked like this: the overwhelming Myeongdong, a delicious food tour, k-beauty, an experience at a Korean salon, the Statue of Gangnam Style and the sixth-tallest building in the world (which provided a frustrating experience, but I will talk more about that later on stories).

::: postcards from Tokyo 🇯🇵- and the last one is probably my favorite. It reminds of scenes from my own hometown in 🇧🇷

Some random thoughts and facts about this incredible city:

🗑️ There are no trash cans on the streets (it was kinda shocking). And some places forbid you to bring trash from other places.

🚗 Not only the roads and cars are left-handed, but also the sidewalks and the stairs. It took us a while to start walking on the left instead of the right side lol

🚽 The modern toilets. I can’t get over. It’s so cool. Ohh, and the fact that a lot of public restrooms have a little chair for babies.

💼 The bag holders at restaurants and cafes - apparently, there’s a superstition about putting purses and other bags directly on the floor - you would loose your money.

🥤Vending machines and 7-eleven stores EVERYWHERE

🇯🇵 The kindness of Japanese people. They are so nice and polite. (I know this is a tourist POV, so feel free to share more).

🧹 The cleanliness of the city. The streets, the subway, the trains. Spotless.

🇺🇸 Some people asked me about the language: we had no issues speaking English. Even when they don’t speak fluently, they try their best.

This is our first time in Asia and it has been such an incredible and fascinating experience. This trip def hit different ❤️

TOKYO DAY 4 - aka our last day in Japan. 🥲 We

TOKYO DAY 4 - aka our last day in Japan. 🥲

We visited the amazing Shibuya Sky, had an incredible omakase experience (it was a tiny restaurant and we were the only customers, like a private meal!), and we visited Sensō-Ji Temple (which was chaotic, and I was already tired lol). We also saw the beautiful Tokyo Skytree.

We are not traveling to other parts of the country at this time. We did our best with the time we had available and now we are heading to another destination: 🇰🇷

TOKYO DAY 3 with Tokyo Tower, Fluffy Pancakes (not an egg lover, so I didn’t appreciate it that much, but I get the hype and Mr. Snack loved it!) and @teamlab.planets (which I was skeptical, but they brought the whole immersive experience to a whole new level!).

HOW TO SURVIVE A 14h FLIGHT ✈️

We arrived in Tokyo yesterday and I had some strategies to make my experience in the flight less miserable 🥲🤣 let’s say instead of horrible it was just bad. But seriously, I think these hacks really made my experience better. It’s a long flight!

✈️ United Airlines has a non-stop flight from Newark to Tokyo. It departs at 11h20AM and it lands at 14h25PM - total of 14h.

👯‍♀️ Since it’s a long flight, I prioritized comfort with leggings, a cozy hoodie and compression socks (these made a HUGE difference!)

⏱️ @timeshifter app really helps you with the jet leg. It’s a paid app, but the first flight is free. You include the flight details and it makes a plan for you. So, it tells you what time to go to sleep, when to take and avoid caffeine, etc - and it starts before the flight.

📺 I downloaded movies and TV series in my tablet so I had more choices!

💺The inflatable footrest was a game-changer - but please notice I’m short.
