THE BEST BANANA BREAD I’VE TRIED IN NYC 🍌

One thing that maybe a lof of you don’t know is that I love cooking - and I also enjoy doing what my husband calls “reversing engineering” with foods that I try - or, it could be translated to coming up with copycat recipes.

That’s what I did with this Banana Bread. After seeing a video from @thecarboholic - I love her recs! - I tried @ilovegoodsugar banana bread and it was so good! So, after checking the ingredients, I combined two recipes to create my version.

RECIPE

INGREDIENTS
- 3 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 3 bananas (ripe is better!)
- ⅓ cup olive oil
- ⅔ cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 and 1/2 cup almond flour
- ⅓ cup tapioca flour
- ⅓ cup buckwheat flour
- 1/4 cup millet

- Mix the water and the chia seeds. Reserve for 5 min.
- Meanwhile, mash the bananas and mix with the oil, the maple syrup and the vanilla extract. Reserve.
- Mix the flours, the salt, cinnamon and baking powder.
- Mix the chia seed mixture with the banana mixture and then add to the dry ingredients mix.
- Incorporate the millet
- Bake for 50 min - 350 F

DOG CAFE IN NEW YORK CITY 🐶

First time I’ve ever heard about @borisandhorton was some months ago, when they almost closed - but a crowdfunding prevented that from happening.

Had the chance to make a quick visit to the place located in East Village and it’s so nice! Dalbit was really happy! During the week, you can work from there (no laptops allowed on the weekends) - and besides coffee, they also have a food menu plus dog products and treats. And there are also a lot of events - and another location in Williamsburg!

The place is free - but a donation is highly appreciated (they suggest $10 if you bring a dog, $5 if you go by yourself). Such a nice idea ❤️ I will definitely be back!

I wore this outfit last Sunday - it was sunny and the temperature was good enough to wear a skirt but I still needed a warm jacket. I loved to play with the proportions and keep it casual with the white sneakers and the sweatshirt

So, yep, it wasn’t rosacea, or dermatitis, or lupus. It was an allergy. I discovered I’m allergic to cinnamal. It was shocking to realize the amount of products I was using that had this ingredient. I mean, if you think about it, isn’t weird to apply fragrance on your face? 🤔

I’m so glad to have found out @yuka_app_us thanks to a follower! It makes my life easier when shopping and trying new products. I’ve been using this app since I discovered the allergy and was really thrilled when I reached out to them and they agreed on working together to spread the word about it!

WOW, I didn’t expect the amount of comments on my first video! You guys had a lot of guesses - as I tried to be short and sweet in these videos, one thing I didn’t mention is that the allergist considered rosacea and lupus, as some of you said.

But that was not the diagnosis. I’m so glad I found @will_hayward_journo thread on Twitter - his story definitely helped me with my journey! And I hope my journey can help someone!
