Last week we had dinner at @verandasoho and this restaurant was a great surprise. The Chef George Mendes, from the famous Aldea, has curated a menu that is American, with hints of India, Mexico, South America, the Middle East, and Portugal. The restaurants source the ingredients from local farms and everything is so delicious! My highlights:
- Fried olives - I know, insane, but so good
- Croquettes - made with cod, a Portuguese classic
- The housemade sourdough bread - do I need to say more?
- Salt cod and potato casserole - a Portuguese dish, must try
- Pasteis de nata - if you know, you know...

Besides that, the environment is beautiful and the drinks are also delicious! 23 Grand St.

🇧🇷 Semana passada jantamos no @verandasoho e esse restaurante foi uma grata surpresa. O chef George Mendes, do famoso Aldea, criou um menu americano com influências do México, América do Sul, Oriente Médio e Portugal. O restaurante usa ingredientes de produtores locais e tudo estava tão delicioso e bem feito! Meus destaques:
- Croquettes - bolinho de bacalhau... preciso dizer mais?
- Fried olives - azeitonas fritas.. eu sei, mas confia em mim: mto bom!
- The housemade sourdough bread - pão de fermentação natural, perfeito!
- Salt cod and potato casserole - bacalhau à Gomes de Sá, clássico!
- Pasteis de nata - preciso dizer mais?

Além disso, o ambiente é simplesmente lindo! E os drinks também são deliciosos!

Last week my sister and I had an amazing dinner at @planta
It is a 100% plant-based restaurant with a chic environment and a very creative menu. Everything we ordered was so delicious - from the drinks to the appetizers and main dish. Even if you are not vegan or vegetarian, I'm sure you're gonna love it, cause the food is full of flavor featuring ingredients in unique combinations. I highly recommend getting a lot of small plates to share! Prices range between $5 -$18 for small plates and 10 to $25 (main dishes).

🇧🇷 Semana passada, eu e minha irmã tivemos um jantar delicioso no @planta . É um restaurante 100% plant-based com um ambiente descolado e um menu pra lá de criativo, com muita influência asiática. Tudo que a gente pediu estava impecável- dos drinks aos aperitivos e também o prato principal. Pedimos vários pratos pra dividir e aperitivos e um prato principal pra dividir. Mesmo que você não seja vegano ou vegetariano, tenho certeza que vai amar, porque a comida é cheia de sabor, com ingredientes em combinações únicas!
Os preços variam entre $5 - $18 (apertivios e small plates) e $10 a $25 (pratos principais).
