North River Lobster Company has been on my bucket list for a long time and I finally had the opportunity to check this experience.

This boat features three decks (including indoor areas) and sails the Hudson River - there are 1 or 2-hour cruises and you can sit back, enjoy the views and relax while having drinks and seafood dishes - I loved the fish & chips!

✅You need a boarding pass - that costs $5 for the 1 hour cruises.
🗽The 7pm cruise is the best option - it lasts 2 hours and it goes to the Statue of Liberty (these passes are $25)
🦞Menu features appetizers starting at $11 and lobster rolls starting at $32
🎟️ Make sure to purchase your tickets in advance.
⏰ TIP: arrive 30 minutes before departure time to secure a great spot!

🚴‍♂️ I’ve always loved biking around, just for fun, but never as an exercise. I’ve always seen those guys with nice bikes around Central Park, and I’ve always thought, “How cool is that!”. So I rented one to try and OMG I’m so ready!

📚 @ptknitwear - This bookstore is family-owned and independent and hosts many events with authors - plus, there’s also a cafe and a podcast studio available for people to use for free. So cool!

🥐 The viral croissant from @lafayette380 - let’s just say that it’s so worth the hype!

Summer is coming to an end soon (hopefully not that soon), and here are some of the outfits I’ve worn (missing a couple for sure, lol).

I guess our style is always evolving, and that’s a reflection of our lives. This year was really important for me when it comes to fashion. I had the opportunity to learn more about my style and making better choices after a styling session with @amandakirsche - and I can definitely see a “before and after” once we worked together.

Also, although fashion has been part of my life in many different ways for so many years, it wasn’t until recently that I realized I don’t need to be ashamed or embarrassed for caring about clothes and styling.

Are we judging men for loving cars or sports? I don’t think so. I decided to own the fact that I love using fashion as a creative tool and a way to express myself, making me feel good in my skin. I would love to say the opposite, but our clothes communicate about ourselves.

🎬The @movingimagenyc is such a cool museum - did you know that it’s actually housed in a former historic film studio? You can’t get more immersed than that!

🎥From the collection of artifacts related to film and television production to the interactive experiences, I’m sure adults and kids will have such a great time exploring everything the place has to offer! One of my favorite experiences was the dubbing studio, soooo cool!

✅Make sure to check their website for special events, screenings and exhibitions.

🇧🇷🇬🇷Also: once you are in Astoria take advantage of the Brazilian and Greek restaurants in the area!

COOKING CLASSES AT THE INSTITUTE OF CULINARY EDUCATION 👩‍🍳

You don’t need to be full-time student at @iceculinary to take advantage of their facilities and their knowledge! This was my second time attending a recreational class there (my first time was a Spanish tapas class back in January) and I not only had a lot of fun but also learned A LOT!

🍽️The Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) in New York City is home to one of the largest programs of hands-on recreational cooking classes, baking classes and wine classes in the world.

🍝They have Cooking classes, Baking classes, Wine & Beverages classes -from Tuscan cooking to classic French desserts, there’s an option for all the tastes!

⏰Not all the workshops last two-days, it depends on the theme - when I took the Spanish tapas one it was only one night.

🤯What fascinates me about these classes are the techniques and the explanations. Everything that happens in the kitchen has a reason and it’s so much more interesting when you learn that!

Trying a new format here - I’ve been sharing my readings in stories and on Substack for a while, so I thought why not sharing a review on the feed as well?

I read Stephanie’s book in less than a week and I loved her vulnerability and all her stories from the time she worked for wealthy families in Manhattan. She is very open and it’s really interesting to see her perspective, the comparisons with her own life, her vulnerability and her awareness. I think that living in NYC also helps me to appreciate the story even more.

Also recommend reading “Primates of Park Avenue” - not a new book, but it also brings more “behind the scenes” of the lives of the wealthy in the UES. Shocking, to say the least…
